Tax FREE Shopping Holiday 2017

The new school year will be here before you know it. Mark your calendars for the 2017 Tax FREE Shopping holiday for the back to school season!

Certain back-to-school purchases, such as clothing, school supplies, computers, and other items as defined by the statute, are exempt from sales tax for this time period only.

Here's a list of the states I've found participating so far and links to the items included in the Tax Free Holiday:

Alabama- Done
Arkansas- Beginning Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 12:01 a.m. and ending Sunday, August 6, 2017 at 11:59 p.m.
Connecticut- August 20th-26th, 2017
Florida- August 4th-6th, 2017
Iowa- Friday, August 4 and Saturday, August 5, 2017
*On Select Clothing and Footwear*
Louisiana- Friday, August 4 – Saturday, August 5, 2017
Maryland- Sunday, August 13 - Saturday, August 19, 2017
Mississippi-12:01 A.M on Friday, July 28, 2017 through 12:00 Midnight on Saturday, July 29, 2017
Missouri- Begins 12:01 a.m. on Friday, August 4, and runs through Sunday, August 6, 2017
New Mexico- Begins at 12:01 a.m. on August 4, 2017 and concludes on August 6, 2017 at midnight.
Ohio- Begins Friday, August 4, 2017 at 12:00 a.m. and ends on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at 11:59 p.m.
Oklahoma- For 2017, the holiday begins at 12:01 am on Friday, August 4, 2017 and ends at twelve midnight on Sunday, August 6, 2017.
South Carolina- Will begin Friday, August 4, 2017 at 12:01 a.m. and end Sunday, August 6, 2017 at midnight.
Tennessee- This year's tax-free holiday weekend begins at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017 and ends Sunday, July 30, 2017 at 11:59 p.m.
Texas- Aug. 11 - 13, 2017
Virginia- August 4-6, 2017. The 3-day sales tax holiday starts the first Friday in August at 12:01 am and ends the following Sunday at 11:59 pm.
