Here's a look at a few events going on in the area:
Run or Dye
Whether you’re a serious runner or a dedicated couch potato, the organizers behind this race say their run is for you. Walk, jog or run through the 5K course while multiple colors of plant-based cornstarch dye are thrown your way. Then, stick around for the Dye Festival after the race. Saturday, 9 a.m., Blue Bonnet Palace, 17630 Lookout Road, Selma, runordye.com
Kentucky Derby Extravaganza
If you can’t be at Churchill Downs to watch the race in action, head to Comfort and join Bending Branch Winery for a day of fun. There will be live music all afternoon, single barrel blanc mint juleps, a horseshoe tournament and even a hat parade and competition. Plus, San Antonio Magazine will be there. Stop at our #selfie booth and take a photo to remember the day. Saturday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m., 142 Lindner Branch Trail, Comfort, 830-995-3394, bendingbranchwinery.com
Northside Arts Festival
This sixth annual festival will display the works of local artists along with crafts, live music and performances by San Antonio School for the Performing Arts dancers. With children’s games, a silent auction and plenty of food, the festival offers something for everyone. Saturday, noon-8 p.m., McAllister Fine Arts Building, 1300 San Pedro, 210-486-0497, saspa.org
Catch Me If You Can
Watch the true story of Frank Abagnale Jr. unfold in this Broadway version of Catch Me if You Can. When FBI agent Carl Hanratty gets wind of his scheme, however, the chase is on. Friday and Saturday, 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, 3 p.m., Woodlawn Theatre, 1920 Fredericksburg Road, 210-267-8388,woodlawntheatre.org
