The Guide To Gratuity Etiquette

I'm always at loss when it comes to tipping, except your standard restaurant visits  & salons.  I just came across this article at Mint.com on How To Be A Total Tipster: A Guide to Gratuity Etiquette that I found really helpful and wanted to pass along!

Food Server Full Service 15% to 20%
Food Server Buffet-Style 10%
Take Out - no obligation, but 10% is favorable
Bartender $1 to $2 per drink or 15% to 20% of the total bill
Cleaning Service 15% to 20%
Contractor - electricians, plumbers etc - no obligation, but min $20 tip is good
Exterminator - no obligation, but $5 to $10 tip is good
Movers - for local moves $20 per mover
Postal Carrier - can not accept cash gift, but gift around holidays valued around $20
Hairstylist/Barber - 15% to 20%
Manicure/Pedicure - 15% to 20%
Spa Services - 15% to 20%
Valet Parking - $2 to $5 when car is returned
Roadside Service - $10 to $20
RoomService - 15% to 20%
Skycap - $2 first bag, $1 per additional bag
Hotel Housekeeping/Maid Service - $2 to $3 per night up to $5 in high end
Taxi Driver - 15% an extra $1 to $2 if the driver helps with bags
